Seems my phone has a few bugs!!!
I’ve had my phone just since July 28th and recently the battery life has become almost none existant.
I noticed it a week or so ago that my battery was only lasting 2 or 3 days maximum with what I consider normal usage (sending texts and the odd 2 minute call) but last night was the clincher!
My phone was fully charged so after setting the alarm I put it in the nest (the phone switched on but the nest switched off at the wall). It’s lucky I woke up at the right time as the alarm didn’t go off. When I took the phone out of the nest and looked at it, it was switched off. I tried to switch it on and got as far as the o2 screen when it died again. The battery was well and truely flat.
There was nothing running on it, no music playing, the bluetooth switched off, nothing like the internet openand I’ve recently cleared out my messages so the memory is quite free. But the battery died within a matter of just 8 hours.
Anyone else had this happen??
Another thing I’ve noticed is that if I have been playing music earlier in the day, when I get a text, my phone will start playing the track it was stopped on. It’s done this when I’ve finished calls too! It seems to have a mind of its own, switching on the music player whenever it wants to.
Then I have problems with the keypad in general. It sometimes (not all the time but quite regularly) presses other buttons. By this I mean, when I press the scroll button to enter the shortcuts it wil come up with 3, 5, 7 or 8 when those buttons haven’t had my fingers anywhere near to press them.
Then there’s not keeping up with my texting speed and when it does the words are wrong because they have gained extra letters or numbers and split so the T9 hasn’t worked. Also, I sometimes get a ‘0′ appears after full stops rather than a space.
I’m wondering again, is this just my phone because it was one of the first ones to go on sale or is a general problem others have noticed?

Does anybody else experience a lag whenever they click buttons? If I click contacts for example, I have a good 2-3 second wait before anything happens, this is particularyly infuriating when typing a text message.

I’m on my second Cocoon, the first wasn’t much cop to be honest. the battery kept going flat if I used the ‘phone for more than three minutes - hardly the five hours talk time as promised. O2 were really cool about this and dispatched a new one instantly so I didn’t loose any time.
My new Cocoon however, is brilliant. I love it. I love the look, feel and usablitiy of it, almost the usability, actually. Here’s why it’s an almost…
The LED display is nice, but I’m the sort of bloke who wants to be able to turn it off, and certainly want to have a greater sense of control over the brightness of the lights when using it as my bedside clock. Even turned right down, it’s still way too bright.
The music player. It would be good if you could disable that from time to time, rather than have to go through the rigmarole of choosing the FM Radio through the menu without a headset connected to turn it off.
I’d like louder speakers and different skins for the UI. I’d like to have the option of setting the vibrtae to a much firmer setting and to be able to turn the ring tunes up to be audible when out and about, or sitting in a quite room…
I’d really like to know if there are plans for a firmware updates? Will we be able to upgrade our software during the life of our contracts? I do hope so.
All in all, a truely cracking phone, but it has some issues that need ironing out.

PS - During the installation of the software, I was adviced to install Windows Media Player 11 as it’ll be the only way I can get music on my phone. What rot. Scrap the deal with Microsoft and give us firmware updates and software applications to really make this design icon outshine the iPhone
