I am a sucker for good design and engineering and the Cocoon has both - it would win a place in my design icon musem.

Ignoring all the obvious points, just get the feel of the Cocoon in your hand - it’s tactile heaven! Want engineering? I even admire the release mechanism for the battery hatch and how superbly well it fits when you replace it (no danger of it opening by accident). Enjoy keys that feel like they are built to last and can be pushed with confidence by fat fumbly fingers. Recognise that only a clamshell design gives the right protection to keyboard and screen, an then gives you a big enough handset to fit to adult ear and mouth when open. And it looks fantastic open or closed whatever your gender! Sure I hate the quiet ringtone and impossibility of turning off the music player and I could do without the O2 active key etc. But no phone is perfect and this is the best of 12+ that I have owned. I badly need a spare USB cable as I am fed up taking the one out of the cradle. Anyone know where I can get one?

I finally got the music uploaded, now the thing (cocoon) is not playing the music, just getting a repeated message on screen saying…Please Wait Updating Music Library. Has anyone else had this? This is the second cocoon i had and even the guys in the o2 shop can’t fathom this out! What the hell is wrong with this little critter??? My poor kid has been waiting for his phone for 2 days and i’ve had nothing but problems with it

Hi - I’m in the process of sending my Cocoon back and getting another phone because (being a little on the older side?) I just can’t hear the phone - there is only one ring tone I can actually hear which is the one that sounds like an ordinary phone ringing. I can’t hear when a message comes in at all!
Can any one help out today or I’ll have to return it by tomorrow.

I hoping someone out there will help me, i have a contract phone runs out in Jan08 so im looking for something new and different. This o2 Cocoon looks really funky but reading these comments im unsure weather to get one or not. Is it worth me getting one????
